Even though the Englishman brushed aside Manchester City's Sergio Aguero and league Champions Leicester City's Jamie Vardy to receive the golden boot award a year ago, Austrian teammate Wimmer believes Kane has only got better this time around.
Pochettino also gave an update on Erik Lamela and says the attacker is continuing to work on his fitness in training this week but there is still no time-scale over his return to the first team.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Kevin Wimmer has stated he believes star-striker Harry Kane has shown improvement this season compared to his last campaign.
Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino took the decision to withdraw all three players during the second half of last week's win over Stoke, revealing afterwards that they had all picked up knocks.
It could be argued that Kane is far more likely to win domestic honours with Spurs, than he is to achieve global success with England.
"I do see a little of myself in him and a bit of Teddy Sheringham, too", Shearer added. If he stays at Spurs for the next 10 years and remains fit, he is one of the players who could break my Premier League goalscoring record.
"It will be broken one day I am very sure of that".
"His goal-ratio is different class".
"To have both of them in teams I play for is massive and of course you're going to notice the difference when you're without them, because of the quality they bring to the team when they're there".
"I think he's improved a lot from last season", the 24-year-old told the club's official website.
