Bone bruise, MCL sprain to keep Kevin Durant out indefinitely

The Warriors lost a Barnes to gain Kevin Durant in the offseason.

Kevin Durant suffered an injury scare as the Golden State Warriors slumped to a 112-108 defeat against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday.

Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant will be out indefinitely after he sprained the medial collateral ligament in his left knee and bruised a bone in his leg during a game in Washington.

While it hasn't been ruled out that Durant could return before the end of the regular season, the Warriors have already reached out to veteran forward Matt Barnes, who, according to ESPN, will sign with the team later this week.

For any other team, this would be a devastating loss - but we're not talking about any other team, are we?

When the Warriors cut Briante Weber, it was all but guaranteed that their next move was signing Calderon after he cleared waivers.

Draymond Green tied his season high of 14 assists while adding 14 points and eight rebounds in Tuesday's loss to the Wizards. Warriors' center Zaza Pachulia fell back towards Durant on a loose ball play, causing his leg to hyperextend. If he needs to be sidelined for an extended amount of time, it is bad news for Golden State which is one of the favorites to win the championship this season. But when the Kings traded DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi to New Orleans for three players, someone had to go, and Barnes figured it might be him. "Tremendously humbled. It's a team everybody talks about, the chemistry they have on and off the court and the way they play for each other". They were forced to say goodbye to a few key role players in order to make space for KD's big contract, but the Dubs' reserves have exceeded expectations this year.

The Spurs now trail the Warriors by four games for the best record in the Western Conference. He spent two years with the Warriors earlier in his career, helping them beat Dallas in a stunning upset in the 2007 playoffs.
