TLC's Final Album Drops in June

On the TLC Tip, the group's manager has revealed some exciting news about the long-awaited project: It's expected to drop this summer. The album will be their first since 2002's "3D", which was completed and released after Lopes's death.

The two surviving members of the group, Tionne "T-Boz" Watkins and Rozonda "Chilli" Thomas, have worked together on and off since the death of Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes in a auto crash in 2007.

He also admitted that the multi-award-winning group wanted to make sure that the album was a great body of work, which we're 100 per cent sure that it will be.

"It is ESSENTIAL that we create our final album completely on our own terms, without any restrictions, with YOU", they explained of the fundraiser.

Among the benefactors were some very famous names: New Kids on the Block -- which co-headlined an arena tour with TLC - put $20,000 toward the campaign, and Katy Perry contributed $5,000.

In an update on the group's Kickstarter page, TLC's manager Bill Diggins said the record is "tentatively scheduled to be released at the end of June", with a firm release date to be confirmed in the next couple of weeks. We would have loved to have delivered this album sooner to you but we are confident that you will agree that it was worth the wait when you hear it.

So that's not entirely concrete, but it's also the first update given since last June. It took a lot more time to coordinate schedules with writers, TLC's executive producer Ron Fair and recording sessions than anticipated. When you see TLC out promoting the album, performing on television and you are listening to the songs on radio; you should feel proud to say to your friends that you made this happen. "It's really ideal for artists who want to express themselves creatively without restrictions, and this is the flawless platform to do an album with our fans and have them involved".
