Palestinian activists inside the camp urged people to protest against the violence. The Lebanese army, which according to a longstanding agreement is not allowed inside the Palestinian camp, closed a major highway nearby.
The latest wave of violence began on February 23.
United Nations agencies announced Wednesday that they had suspended all its educational, healthcare and other services in Lebanon's largest Palestinian refugee camp after clashes between armed factions.
The statement said that the two groups were "deeply concerned" that ongoing violence would result in further civilian casualties, including children, noting that an UNRWA employee was injured in the violence.
"An UNRWA installation is reported as sustaining minor damage and the unauthorized entry of armed actors into one UNRWA school was reported". The UN says more than 50,000 Palestinian refugees live inside the camp's confines of less than 2.5 sq.km.
Meanwhile, Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) secretary Fathi Abu al-Aradat said on Thursday that an agreement had been established in collaboration with the Lebanese government to turn in wanted Lebanese hiding in Ain al-Hilweh.
"We also treated four people including a young boy who was hit by a stray bullet and who is in critical condition", the source added.
