HGTV Reportedly Gives 'Flip Or Flop' Five Spinoffs

As the stars of HGTV's "Flip or Flop" go through a divorce, the network announced Wednesday plans to expand the popular home renovation series to other locations, including Chicago.

Of course, original stars Tarek and Christina El Moussa will not be starring in the spin-offs, instead each city will have its own real-estate pros who will host for their city. "I'm a new man", he's reportedly said on set, according to the report. In an interview with People, she said that their six-year-old daughter Taylor asked if they could "get back together".

HGTV has five new opportunities to flop.

The magazine went on to note that Christina and Tarek El Moussa have been staying mum in regard to why their marriage fell apart and have instead made a decision to take control of their images.

"With the original Flip or Flop, we found that what resonated with viewers was the authenticity, the expertise, the experience and the results they saw in the show", says Allison Page, general manager, USA programming and development for HGTV, Food Network and Travel Channel in a release.

"We've been building this franchise for over a year and a half and we're thrilled to bring new chapters, new stories and new talent to complement a series that's been a big success", Allison Page, general manager of USA programming for HGTV, told the magazine.

"You know, in general, in any separation, there are challenges", he said.

Tarek El Moussa has been about his co-parenting efforts with Christina in recent weeks, and during an appearance on Extra TV with Mario Lopez earlier this week, he confirmed he was doing "fantastic" despite his recent divorce filing.

The couple's strategy is apparently a recipe for success, as the mother of two young boys noted, "We don't have disagreements. We're staying positive... At this point in time, I think we're both going separate ways".

That show will premiere April 6, while Flip or Flop Atlanta will premiere this summer with Ken and Anita Corsini as the hosts.
