Pelicans Dropped By Thunder 118-110

Russell Westbrook notched his 29th triple-double of the season to lead the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 118-110 victory over New Orleans Pelicans on Sunday at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

John Wall recorded his 11th straight game of at least 10 points and 10 assists (second to only James Harden's 12 this season), but the Wizards shot just 42.5 percent from the field in the 102-92 loss to the Jazz.

During the lull after the NBA All-Star Game, the league buzz was all about how DeMarcus Cousins and Anthony Davis would co-exist with the New Orleans Pelicans.

"The game will tell you what to do".

This means that many of Westbrook's rebounds are long rebounds and can ignite a fast break upon touching the ball when he receives the ball 3-point line extended. He also posted 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

But Westbrook scored 21 points in the final period, including a thunderous dunk that gave Cousins his sixth foul with 2:38 left in the game, and he overwhelmed the Pelicans defense down the stretch, scoring Oklahoma City's final 16 points of the night.

"I've never been in a hallway where guys are doing so many handshakes and jumping around, bouncing". They added Taj Gibson and Doug McDermott via trade, got Enes Kanter back from injury, and got career highs from both Alex Abrines (19 points) and Andre Roberson (19 points, too) in Friday's win over the Lakers. "We've had some really good wins, if you go back and think about Cleveland, Boston, San Antonio, the Clippers; and played Golden State close twice". Cousins is facing his second mandatory suspension of the season, unless this latest tech is rescinded like two others this season. Throw in the horrendously unfortunate Omri Casspi injury, as well as Jrue Holiday's struggles adapting to his new role as third wheel, and the Pels surely have to be wondering why they're being excluded from Mardi Gras after swinging what so many of us thought was the trade of the season. For his part, it's the fastest Cousins has ever gotten a technical in an National Basketball Association game.

The Thunder will continue its three-game homestand when the Pelicans come to town on Sunday night.

Chris Paul had 15 points, 17 assists and nine rebounds, while J.J. Redick scored 22 points for Los Angeles.

BUCKS 100 bt SUNS 96 - Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 28 points, Tony Snell made a clinching three-pointer from the corner in the closing seconds and Milwaukee held on to beat Phoenix.
