Paytm E-commerce launches 'Paytm Mall' online marketplace app

The Paytm Mall would also launch an ungraded version of the simple and intuitive Paytm Seller app.
The so-called Paytm Bazaar will continue to offer a more flexible marketplace for general sellers and that will also be available on the app.
In a statement Paytm says that "Only trusted sellers who passing strict quality guidelines and qualification criteria only should be allowed on the "Mall".
Online shopping majors, Flipkart and Amazon will soon have to contend with Paytm Mall, a consumer shopping app from Alibaba-backed Paytm.
Paytm said it will manage its deliveries through 17 fulfilment centres of third-party warehouse providers and those owned by sellers and will leverage the network of its 40 courier partners.
The platform called Paytm Mall, inspired by Alibaba's business-to-consumer portal TMall, will focus on structured categories and brand-authorised stores with a focus on electronics, top fashion brands and FMCG categories. Available only for the Android platform now, it is soon expected to pave its way to the iOS platform. "Consumers would continue to get the largest assortment of domestic and worldwide products through Paytm Bazaar, which will also be featured on the new app", said, Saurabh Vashishtha, the Vice President of Paytm.
Paytm Mall has over 1.4 million sellers on board for the platform, across categories like fashion, electronics, consumer durables and home furnishings among others.
Alibaba is bullish on the online commerce market in India, having already pumped $200 million into Paytm, valuing the company at around $1 billion.
The service was introduced by Paytm's e-commerce segment, which has been running parallel with the company wallet service since the beginning.
The popular unstructured shopping channel on Paytm "The Bazaar" would also be featured on a new app.
The company may be separate the e-commerce business from its main application, which will make the transition to the payments bank. A big hit within the country's merchant community, the latest version would be available in 7 regional languages and would allow anyone with a smartphone to set up an online shop on Paytm Mall. Consumers would continue to get the largest assortment of domestic and global products through Paytm Bazaar, which will also be featured on the new app, " said, Saurabh Vashishtha, the vice president of Paytm, BGR India reported.
