Dutch woman arrested to fulfill bucket list wish

But 99-year-old Dutch woman Annie is not like most of us.

The niece got in touch with the Politie Nijmegen-Zuid force in the eastern part of country where they live and told them her aunt wanted to cross "getting arrested" off her bucket list, according to the TV station.

The Nijmegen-Zuid Police posted photos of the beaming "jailbird" on its Facebook page, where they've since racked up over 4,000 reactions and almost 200 shares.

She wanted to spend some time in police custody before she died and officers were happy to fulfil her wish.

The face of her though.

A spokesperson from the police station told Buzzfeed they picked her up at place in a cop vehicle, before locking her up briefly. "One thing led to another, and the result is a happy Annie, a ticked off bucket list and some very nice pictures".

A caption accompanying the post explains Annie is nearly 100-years-old and has always wanted to "experience a jail cell from within".

The police shared photos on Facebook and said it was "a day to remember".
