Amazon's cloud service partial outage affects certain websites

If it seems like your internet browsing is hitting more walls than possible today, you'll be happy to know that it's not your computer. Many websites including Quora, Flippa and nearly every major website hosted on Amazon Web Services (AWS) are down.

Amazon is insisting that it isn't an outage, but instead, "increased error rates".

The online giant is reporting errors with some of its Amazon Web Services hosting platform, which helps keep numerous world's leading websites online.

"We're continuing to work to remediate the availability issues for Amazon S3 in US-EAST-1".

An issue with S3 cloud storage at Amazon's massive data center in Northern Virginia is causing problems for several AWS customers. "At last check S3 status pages were showing green on AWS, but it isn't even available through the AWS console".

There is no specific time when Amazon AWS Service will restore making Quora and other websites running smoothly. Unfortunately, there's always ghosts in the machine, and downtime is inevitable.
