ZTE's Blade V8 Mini Is Aimed At Smartphone Photographer

ZTE is launching two new Android-powered smartphone from its youth-oriented line at MWC 2017. The Blade V8 Mini does, however, sport a dual camera setup at the back, making it a direct competitor to the Huawei Honor 6X.

Now, just weeks after the ZTE Blade V8 Pro went to sale, the company is seemingly planning to unveil a new ZTE Blade V8 SE in the U.S. The phone has just made a stop at the FCC, all but confirming its imminent launch in the country, however, the details of the specs under the hood are still unknown.

"Next up, the ZTE Blade V8 Mini has a 5" 720p display as well, but this one is sporting the Snapdragon 435 SoC. The V8 Mini's launch will be in various markets across Asia Pacific and Europe, while the V8 Lite will be marketed towards European markets, namely Italy, Spain, and Germany. If anything, it is possible that the leaked model could be the ZTE Blade V8 Lite, which like the iPhone SE, could be the compact model in the Blade V8 series. Hardware and camera The ZTE Blade V8 Mini is the more powerful handset from the duo we have here. It also has a rear-placed fingerprint sensor and a basic 8MP/5MP camera combo, and will feature Nougat out of the box as well. ZTE actually introduced these two smartphones earlier today, and we're looking at two mid-range metal-clad devices.

The cameras on the smartphone are also capable of 3D shooting, a manual mode, auto HDR, and a multiple camera mode.

Its one-hand friendly size measures out to be a similar 143 x 71 x 8mm and the battery life will be about the same with a 2,500mAh capacity battery.

The Blade V8 Lite has a 5-inch screen but, unlike most smartphones at this tier, boasts of a Full HD resolution.

Powering the ZTE Blade V8 Mini and Blade V8 Lite are modest 2,800mAH and 2,500mAH batteries. The display, RAM, and storage stays the same but the processor has switched to the MediaTek MT6750. It features a single 8-megapixel camera on the back and a 5-megapixel camera on the front. The phone is paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage which can be further expandable via MicroSD card. In addition, this device runs Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box, along with ZTE's Mifavor 4.2. They also dabble in a bit of everything so you never know quite what you are going to get.
