National manhunt on for Rankin, Neshoba shooting suspect

According to the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Alex Bridges Deaton, 28, could be involved in multiple crimes in Mississippi that include the murder of his girlfriend and an attack on a female jogger in Rankin County.

The Neshoba County Sheriff's Department continues to work closely with the Rankin County Sheriff's Department. If you see Deaton call 911.

A nationwide "Be on the Lookout" alert has been issued for a man who could be linked to the death of a Neshoba county woman who was found shot in a Neshoba County church Thursday night.

Later the same day, the Rankin County Sheriff's Department conducted a welfare check at the Vineyard's Apartments off of Vine Drive.

Deaton is 5 feet 9 inches, weighs 170 pounds and has brown hair and hazel eyes.

There is a manhunt underway for a local man wanted in connection with murders in Rankin County.

Because of "Deaton's physical description, the description of the white SUV missing from the deceased victim, the proximity of the two incidents, and physical evidence collected at the Castlewoods Boulevard shooting, Deaton", Sheriff Bailey says, "is a suspect in both cases".

Deaton's girlfriend, Heather Robinson, 30, was found murdered in her apartment in Rankin County, MS on Friday.

Authorities believe he is driving Robinson's stolen SUV; a white 2012 GMC Acadia, with a Mississippi Nurses Foundation tag number F39 6NF.

During the investigation, the Robinson told police a white male with facial hair driving a small white SUV shot her from the driver's window.

Anyone with information that leads to the arrest of Alex Bridges Deaton would be eligible for up to a $2,500 reward. Deaton is the boyfriend of the victim.
