Patrick Stewart Just Recently Found Out He's Uncircumcised

Sir Ian McKellen surprised his X-Men co-stars with a visit to Graham Norton's sofa in the latest edition of his show - and he had a few choice words for his pal Patrick Stewart.

The X-Men star was having an intimate discussion with Sunny Ozell about his circumcision when she bluntly informed him he had never undergone the painful procedure, normally performed at birth.

"You know, I think when you get to my age, you want to leave aside those exhausted, old franchises", he joked. "All my life my mother has told me it was fashionable at the time'". "I said, 'What do you mean?"

On a subsequent trip to see his physician, Stewart asked, "By the way, my wife and I have had a little disagreement, I am circumcised, aren't I?" "No", the GP replied, adding: "I am Jewish, I know the difference".

After his candid confession, the actor quipped, "Oh no, my grandchildren will be watching this!"

Stewart was on the chat show with Hugh Jackman to promote their new film, Logan.

Stewart said he was reduced to tears when he watched the film back at a screening and said it was a "perfect and handsome way" to say goodbye.

"While the credits were rolling I realised that if it was the end, there was no more flawless and lovely way to say, 'au revoir, goodbye, adios'". Maybe it was the company of these two guys, but the movie ended and - this is an admission - but at one point [Hugh] reached out, and he took my hand in those last few minutes, and I saw him go [mimes wiping a tear from his eye] like this, and then I realized I had just done the same thing. So, I told [Hugh] that same evening, 'I'm done too.

Logan - minus Mr McKellen, but with Sir Patrick Stewart - is out in cinemas on March 1.
