The Volkswagen Arteon design exhibit key features including a new front end packed with LED headlights and daytime running lights that merge with the chrome-plated crossbars covering the grille.
The Volkswagen Arteon should be in dealerships late 2017 as a 2018 model year vehicle. It also brings a more striking shoulder section. The Arteon is also dubbed as the "premium mid-size" fastback.
The Arteon is expected to have an eight-speed automatic transmission and be powered by VW's ubiquitous turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and output about 290 horsepower.
The result of this is said to be a spacious interior, with good leaf and head room despite its sloping Coupe-esque rear.
The brand does say that the auto will debut "the latest generation of driver assistance systems, ' including 'features that are typically reserved for luxury automobiles".
The new vehicle, a four-door fastback, will be revealed at the show on 7 March, and will sit above the Passat in the German maker's model line-up. Although dubbed as a Sport Coupe GTE Concept look-a-like, the new Volkswagen Arteon will be a show stopper.
The 2017 Geneva motor show opens to journalists on March 7 and to the public from March 9. We'll know much more about the new VW Arteon next month.
