Quetta triumph in 15th match, beat Karachi by six wickets

Quetta Gladiators gave themselves clear daylight at the top of the Pakistan Super League table on Thursday night, with a comfortable six-wicket win over Karachi Kings.

For Karachi Kings, Sohail Khan got two wickets, taking his tournament's wickets tally to 11 - the most by any bowler in the second season. Lahore Qalandars is in 2nd and Islamabad United is in 3rd position by winning three matches each.

Opening Quetta pair Asad Shafiq and Ahmed Shehzad certainly made it seem that way when racing to 94-0 at the halfway stage and the target reduced to just a run-a-ball.

Ahmed Shahzad score 54, Asad Shafiq score 51 runs. From 94 for 3 in 13.5 overs, Kings pushed through to 131 in the 18th over, courtesy a blitzy cameo from Kieron Pollard (31 off 19 balls).

On the other hand, with time running out, Sangakkara's men need good starts from their big-hitting West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, who has been a big disappointment, scoring only 30 runs from five matches so far.

The match will begin at 9:00 p.m. Karachi has scored four points and is at last position.

Quetta have a settled batting unit with Ahmed Shehzad at the top and an in-form middle order, consisting the likes of Pietersen, South African import Rilee Rossouw and the skipper Sarfraz.

154 runs was not poor even for the current runner up but their openers also played really well and made 105 runs partnership and then the result of the match nearly decided. Sohail Khan took two wickets for Karachi Kings.

Earlier, Quetta Gladiators won the toss and invited Karachi Kings to bat first in the opener of third round of PSL in Dubai.
