Here's Why Mike Epps Was Arrested In New Orleans

On Tuesday Epps failed to show up for his arraignment and now there is a warrant out for his arrest, according to TMZ.

Few details about the incident were included in police documents, except to say Epps, 46, and Cobb, 52, of Brooklyn, were involved in a "physical altercation" in which they "struck" the visitor.

For reasons yet not known, Mike Epps allegedly 2-pieced a man in a New Orleans casino over NBA All-Star Weekend.

According to the alleged victim, he saw Epps in the wee hours of the morning, right before he cashed out his winnings and that's when things went awry.

Epps, who was in town for a comedy festival appearance, was arrested Saturday afternoon and released on $1,000 bail. "I had a handful of chips, so I just basically bent down to protect myself".

The report adds a new wrinkle to the story of the incident, which resulted in the arrest of Epps and his longtime collaborator Thomas Cobb on municipal battery counts.

He ducked and covered until casino security came and called police. The man said the altercation left his face bruised and bloodied. The victim told investigators he said "Hey, you are Mike Epps" and then Epps began punching him.

Police said the video clearly captures the punches that Epps landed on the man after the two exchanged words.

Epps posted the above photo on the same day as his reported arraignment [Feb. 21].

The man told police he was momentarily dazed and asked for medical treatment for his injuries.
