One dead, two injured after shooting at Olathe bar and grill

In an email Garmin officials identified the employees targeted in the shooting as Srinivas Kuchibhotla and Alok Madasani.

The suspect is being held in the Henry County Jail on two million dollars bond. According to The Kansas City Star, a 51-year-old Navy veteran named Adam Purinton uttered racial slurs inside Austin's Bar and Grill on Wednesday.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established for Kuchibhotla's family. Police say a man shot three people at Austin's Bar and Grill on E. 151st St. Wednesday night.

Olathe police and the Federal Bureau of Investigation planned to conduct a press conference at 4 p.m. Thursday at Olathe Police Headquarters.

In a public statement the company added, "We're saddened that two Garmin associates were involved in last night's incident, and we express our condolences to the family and friends of our co-workers involved". The third victim had serious injuries.

"Ian (Grillot) found himself in the wrong place trying to be a helping hand", his sisters posted on the GoFundMe page.

Five hours after the shooting, Purinton was in an Applebee's bar 90 miles (140km) away in Clinton, Missouri and told a barman he had just shot dead two Middle Eastern men.

Sources said two of the victims were of Middle Eastern or Indian descent.
