Afterbirth+ is the grotesquely named expansion to the base game of Binding of Isaac. Although the game's publisher, Nicalis, still claims the game will debut on the new-gen system in March, it won't quite be ready for the originally planned release date of the third. However, he does confirm that the game will still launch in March sometime, still within the console's launch window.
It will still be released in March, just not the day the Switch launches. "We WILL NOT be including this manual in any future Switch production runs".
Along with the delay, Nicalis also revealed limited edition sticker sheets, which will come with the much loved Isaac face sticker, reversible alternate cover, and a 20-page instruction booklet will be included with every launch copy of the game.
"We were unable to confirm the revised release date until now (due to issues way beyond our control), but can confirm that the Release Date for The Binding of Isaac: Afterbirth+ on Nintendo Switch has been pushed back".
While these bonuses will likely help convince fans that the delay isn't a big deal, the fact that The Binding of Isaac won't be part of the Switch's launch lineup is bad news for early adopters.
The booklet will be an homage to 8bit games of yore, alongside some never before seen art from the game's development.
