'Partridge Family' Star David Cassidy Reveals He Has Dementia

David Cassidy has had a long history with alcohol addiction, having been in and out of rehab numerous times over the course of his life.

"I was in denial, but a part of me always knew this was coming", he told People.

Based on this new revelation, his announcement on Saturday, saying his Sunday show would be his last, may make more sense. "I want to enjoy life".

Former "Partridge Family" star David Cassidy says he's struggling with memory loss.

In the '70s, Cassidy was a teen heartthrob thanks to his performance as Keith Partridge, the eldest of five siblings who join their mother, Shirley Partridge, in a career as a family singing group that toured the country in an old school bus. David also made news this past weekend when fan-shot video surfaced of him slurring his words and struggling to remember lyrics during a concert in Agoura Hills, California. He told Piers Morgan in 2014, "If I take another drink, I'm going to die, physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually".

Later Monday, TMZ updated its post to add that while it may have "looked like he fell off the wagon", it wasn't that.

Earlier this month, Cassidy announced via his official website that he planned to retire from touring at the end of this year. But it's much more hard for me now. PEOPLE Magazine reported he was charged with a DUI in November 2010 and was subsequently charged with the same offense in August 2013 and January 2014.
