General HR McMaster selected to replace Michael Flynn as National Security Advisor

McMaster reportedly considers Russian Federation a threat to global stability - a sharp contrast to Trump and Flynn.

For his Ph.D. thesis at the University of North Carolina, McMaster wrote Dereliction of Duty, which criticized the military officers of the Vietnam War era for not challenging President Lyndon B. Johnson and Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara over their Vietnam strategies.

The president is working from the Trump International Golf Club, not far from his Mar-a-Lago resort. "He is highly respected by everyone in the military and were very honored to have him", Trump said.

Among Bolton's most vocal supporters are senior administration officials loyal to Flynn and who are upset at the general's firing. Kellogg has now been appointed to serve as the National Security Council chief of staff. Trump also noted that former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations would have a national security role, but did not specify.

"I look forward to joining the national security team and doing everything that I can to advance and protect the interests of the American people", McMaster said. Jones said that the role requires a strategic thinker and someone who will keep the National Security Council out of tactical military operations.

Flynn sparked controversy when it was revealed he had misled Vice President Mike Pence about the content of his conversations with the Russian Ambassador to the U.S.

Trump tweeted on Saturday that he "will be having many meetings this weekend at The Southern White House".

At a press conference Thursday with Israeli P.M. Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump said he thought Flynn had been treated very unfairly by the media and what happened to him was "very, very unfair".

White House Chief of Staff Reince Preibus said Sunday that whoever Trump picked to fill the post would have full autonomy over his staff. Prebius's comments came after reports indicated that Retired Adm. Robert Harward turned down Trump's offer to replace Flynn over concerns that he would not get to staff his own office. The report argues that though McMaster is suited for the role, it is not clear how much influence he will have on Trump.

He made no specific mention of Caslen, but added that "we'll be talking to some of the other generals that I've met".

Donald Trump has named Lieutenant General Herbert Raymond "H.R". "They're all good, they're all great people". "I could not imagine a better, more capable national security team than the one we have right now", McCain said. An US intelligence official says there is no evidence of criminal wrongdoing, although he noted that it doesn't rule out the possibility of illegal actions.
