ANC spokesperson in North West, Gerald Modise, shot down rumours about Molefe's membership, saying he is a member in good standing in Hartebeespoort.
The African National Congress (ANC) says Member of Parliament (MP) Makhosi Khoza has been moved from the Finance Committee to another area which is more related to her field of expertise.
The ANC's Hartbeespoort branch held a media briefing during the day, where they endorsed Molefe's deployment as an MP.
Previous year former Public Protector Thuli Madonsela's State of Capture report implicated Molefe in the state capture scandal, showing him visiting the Guptas' Saxonwold residence no less than 13 times... "He has never come for a meeting ... we did not nominate him for parliament".
Molefe featured extensively in the "State of Capture" report, which was released following a court order.
The report contained phone call records, showing that Molefe and the Gupta brothers had made over 44 phone calls to each other in a small window of time.
It has been speculated that Molefe is being primed to replaced finance minister Pravin Gordhan in an imminent cabinet reshuffle.
"I can confirm that I am in the public service and administration (committee), I am their new chair now but it's going to be confirmed tomorrow [Wednesday] when I am being officially appointed, it will be happening tomorrow morning if we have the quorum".
