Boy Assumed Dead Wakes Up at Funeral Shocks Everyone in Karnataka

From being presumed to be dead to waking up on the way to his funeral, this tale about a teenager in Hubli is astounding!

After the boy was taken home, his family members noticed no body movements.

In a rather surprising turn of events, a 17-year-old boy who worked as a construction labourer, woke up on the way to his funeral in Managundi village in Dharwad. He got a bad infection, and he was taken to hospital in a critical condition.

After he was bitten by a stray dog, Kumar was down with high fever last week and was admitted to a hospital. As his condition worsened, he was put on a ventilator.

Given that the infection was taking over the 17-year-old's body, doctors at Dharwad Hospital told the family that he would survive without life support after which the family made the hard decision to take him off the ventilator.

But the villagers had hardly moved two kilometers away from their home with the body, when Marewad opened his eyes and started moving his legs.

Subsequently, his family members made a decision to take Kumar home as chances of his survival was bleak.

The villagers and family started making arrangements for his funeral and last rites.

The boy was then rushed to a hospital where he was placed back on life support. "We need support for his treatment". "We suspect he suffers from meningoencephalitis, an infection caused due to dog bite", Dr Mahesh Neelakhantannavar was quoted as saying.

Kumar's parents Ningappa and Manjula, are labourers, and told the paper the youngster had stopped attending school in order to support the family. His elder brother is physically challenged.
