Akhilesh Yadav requests Big B to stop campaigning for "donkeys" of Gujarat

As political drama in the state continues with parties targeting each other amid the seven-phased Uttar Pradesh assembly elections, Akhilesh Yadav's seems a bit nervous with his latest jibe at the Prime Minister.

Raebareli: Taking a dig at Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Samajwadi Party's President Akhilesh Yadav, on Monday, urged superstar Amitabh Bachchan to not do any promotional campaign for Gujarat's "gadhas".

The ad shows Amitabh inviting tourists to visit the Wild Ass Sanctuary located in Little Rann of Kutch in Gujarat.

"What will happen if the donkeys also start getting advertised?", the UP CM later asked the audience. Bachchan has been the brand ambassador of Gujarat Tourism ever since Modi was the chief minister of the state. Akhilesh also took on Modi for his much-publicised Independence Day speech from the Red Fort in which he talked about the electrification of a village in Mathura.

Addressing a rally in Rai Breli, Akhilesh Yadav said, "There comes an advertisement on Television which features a donkey". "And, they are talking about power supply on Eid and Diwali", he added.

"I would like to request Amitabh ji to stop advertising for donkeys of Gujarat", Akhilesh said.
