Abby Wambach, the 36-year-old retired US soccer star who helped her team win the 2015 FIFA Women's World Cup, has gotten engaged, the couple announced over the weekend on social media.
The soccer star took to Instagram to share the happy news, posting a lovely pic of her hand holding her Christian blogger mom fiancee's - attractive sparkling engagement rings on full display.
Wambach posted the same photo on her page Saturday morning.
Last week, Melton had posted a kissy-face picture of herself with Wambach, writing, "And then one day it all makes sense".
The engagement news comes three months after Melton announced to her readers that she had fallen in love with Wambach.
"And oh my God, she is so good to me", she wrote next to a photo of her and Wambach.
Melton's surprise post came two months after Wambach announced that she and wife Sarah Huffman were divorcing. "And honestly? Those are the least impressive things about her".
Abby and Glennon have been together since November 2016. She's just my favorite.
"I found myself when I met you @glennondoylemelton The end".
"I'm going to share with you my new love", Melton wrote.
Wambach retired from soccer in 2015 after three appearances at the Summer Olympics and four at the FIFA Women's World Cup.
