Man City manager Pep Guardiola loses hope on Gabriel Jesus' return

Speaking to Calciomercato.com, Gabriel Jesus' agent, Cristiano Simões, was asked about the story and comments by former Inter president, Massimo Moratti, who said Suning should go for the Manchester City player.

However, Guardiola has now confirmed that, after successful surgery, Jesus could face "two or three" months on the sidelines.

Jesus had an operation on the damaged metatarsal in Barcelona on Thursday, and is expected to spend some of his recovery time back home in Sao Paulo. The prolific Argentinian, who has scored 18 goals this season and 154 since joining the club in 2011, has started the last three games on the bench while Jesus has taken the chance to shine.

David Wagner's Terriers have won their last five Championship matches, and moved to within four points of Brighton in second following a last-gasp 3-2 victory over Rotherham on Tuesday night.

"It is not easy coming from Australia to come to the Championship and play as good as he does".

He said: "Sergio has to do what he has done all of is career, nothing more".

City could have a busy last three months, with fixtures in the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup, if they beat Huddersfield Town in the fifth round on Saturday.

"I don't have doubts about the quality because it was always there", Guardiola added on Aguero.

"The dream player I would like to see Inter sign in the future is Gabriel Jesus", Moratti told Sky Sport Italia. "Just go there, play as best as possible, that's all".

They had been due to play Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium on February 26, but the game was postponed after the Red Devils reached the EFL Cup final.

But it's handsome when you see a player who you believe has potential by the bucket load - and who knows what great things he will do. You are in or you are out in that competition.
