Katy also recently announced for the GRAMMY Awards on February 12, the first of two huge performances promoting her brand new single Chained to the Rhythm. Katy Perry totally dissed Britney Spears on the red carpet at the Grammys when asked about her "mental health". Perry responded, "Fantastic, I haven't shaved my head yet".
Katy joins fellow USA star Bruno Mars on the performing line-up, which also includes a host of homegrown British talent. The premise to the statement was the unfortunate incident when Britney Spears shaved her head publicly following a meltdown in 2007.
Well, this was a direct dig at Britney Spears.
The singer told Entertainment Tonight reporters: "The last colour in the spectrum that I can do - I've done all of them - and the only shade left I have to do is shave my head, which I'm really saving for a public breakdown".
While speaking with Nancy O'Dell-who's still doin' it!-Perry was asked about her new hair.
Fans on Twitter were quick to criticise the pop star for seemingly joking about mental health. But the pop superstar has been on a three-year hiatus since 2013's release of "Prism", making her most recent claim to fame her political advocacy and outspoken support of presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
As Spears fans may remember, Perry, 32, slammed product placement for music videos in 2011, immediately after her competitor endorsed Sony, Make Up Forever coesmetics, and Plentyoffish.com in her clip for Hold It Against Me.
A fan commented: "Britney has 2 of the best selling albums in history certified +200M records sold ww Katy who?#katyperryisoverparty". "What an a*****e comment, Katy Perry".
