Russian foreign minister meets with Tillerson, denies interfering

Speaking about situation in Donbass, Sergei Lavrov said that France, Germany and the United States should prevent Kiev's attempts to sabotage the set of agreements.
U.S. Secretary of State Rex Tillerson attended the G20 summit Thursday in Bonn, Germany for his first official foreign trip to discuss the future of North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and meet with Russia's Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov.

Jim Wilkinson, a senior adviser to former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, said it was vital for Tillerson to establish a relationship with fellow ministers during his first trip.
"Tillerson expressed willingness to support this process [peace negotiations on Syria in Astana]", Lavrov said.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting with his United States counterpart, Sergei Lavrov said that Russian Federation and the U.S. confirmed common interest on fight against terrorism. He will also press Russian Federation to fully implement the Minsk peace accords to end violence in eastern Ukraine.
The talks are taking place in the Russian room for bilateral meetings.
"You should know we do not interfere in the domestic matters of other countries", Lavrov told reporters.
US allies worry about Trump's unpredictability.
Trump has said he wants to improve relations with Russian Federation, even though the Kremlijn has been at odds with USA policy in Ukraine and, at times, in Syria.
"The obvious ones which have been discussed many times are counter-ISIS and counterterrorism would be areas that the Secretary would hope to develop some possible avenues for cooperation", the official said.
"As I made clear in my Senate confirmation hearing, the United States will consider working with Russian Federation when we can find areas of practical cooperation that will benefit the American people", he said.
"Where we do not see eye to eye, the United States will stand up for the interests and values of America and her allies", he said.
