Kushners won't pursue Marlins if Jeffrey Loria made USA diplomat

The Miami Herald also reported on Wednesday that Loria is not talking to anyone other than Kushner and his partners, but the newspaper indicated that there was an unidentified "former owner of another Major League Baseball team" who would have interest in buying the Marlins if the deal with Kushner falls through.

According to reports, the Marlins were focused on the potential deal with Joshua Kushner and Joseph Meyer (married to the Kushners' sister).

Loria is reportedly shopping the Marlins and has donated to the Trump campaign in the past.

"If that is true, we do not want this unrelated transaction to complicate that process and will not pursue it", the statement added.

"The Kushners remain interested in purchasing a team and would love to buy the Marlins at another time".

The New York Post reported Wednesday that Loria is likely to be the next French ambassador.

NY businessmen Joshua Kushner, Jared's brother, and Joseph Meyer have had exclusive discussions with Loria to buy the Marlins this week, the Miami Herald reported. The Marlins haven't commented.

While that, on it's surface, is a unusual sentence for baseball fans to read, it does add a conflict of interest to a potential Major League Baseball team sale. But that would nearly be worth it to see Loria walking out the door.

The New York Post on Wednesday reported that White House chief of staff Reince Priebus has been pushing Loria for the position of US ambassador to France and that Trump has signed off on the appointment.

Jared Kushner, who is an adviser to the president, is not believed to part of the recent effort to the buy team.

Jeffrey Loria has to be the least diplomatic person on planet earth, and Donald Trump is about to send the man who pissed off Miami so much that he couldn't manage to fill 1/3rd of a completely free, publicly built baseball stadium off to France.
