Tom Brady Says He's Fine With Teammates Skipping White House Visit

The New England Patriots beat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI, so in honoring the bet Zoo Atlanta welcomed Tom Brady, a Madagascar hissing cockroach, to its family. This is the first time there's been any publicity, so you might ask, why is that? Four of them - Martellus Bennett, Devin McCourty, Chris Long and LeGarrette Blount - have said it's because of the man who now occupies that residence. Once Brady threw the ball, Alford was easily able to jump the route. "It meant you won a championship and you got to experience something cool with your team, with your teammates", Brady told PFT.

"Putting politics aside, it never was a political thing", Brady said.

"Everyone is different, everyone has different teams they've played on, coaches they've played for", he added.

"Everybody has their own choice", Brady said.

Plus, don't forget, players pass on attending all the time. A young Brady found it worthwhile to "experience something cool" during the Bush days, but an older Brady didn't see enough "cool" about the first African-American president in US history to reconfigure his offseason schedule two years ago.

The 39-year-old quarterback and dad of three never said whether he will be participating in this year's championship visit, but like he said, they may not know when the visit will be scheduled until about 10 days before. Brady controlled that part pretty well all the way through the Super Bowl, which supports the idea that taking the high road was the right decision for him to make. I think that a lot of people spend a lot of time looking into the matter and what happened, and I'd rather not say anything that would cause any problems in the work that's been done.

Brady's training is much different than many other National Football League players as he focuses on flexibility and does a lot of work with resistance bands. If they want to spend it with their children, what's the big deal?
