Sophie Turner Talks Game of Thrones on BAFTAs Red Carpet

Her comments seem to confirm that a new X-Men film is underway. But the actor actually dropped another spoiler in the same breath that affects a different, very popular franchise she's involved in: Sophie Turner said she will return as Jean Grey in the sequel to 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse - and that could mean very exciting things for the superpowered franchise.

Fox is keeping a lot about its upcoming X-Men titles under wraps.

During a red carpet interview for HeyUGuys, the actress was asked about where she was going next.

Rest assured, we'll be covering season 8 when it gets a little closer - we've just got to dive into season 7 first. "And then we go on to Season 8 [of Game of Thrones]".

The other major X-Men: Apocalypse leading lady, Jennifer Lawrence, is officially done... or is she?

For instance, Kinberg has pointed out that the new film could take place a decade after Apocalypse, and have a 1990s setting. "Now they must decide if the life of the woman they cherish is worth the existence of the entire universe!" Timing. A synopsis is usually a sign that a film has a set structure.

While this quote at first suggests that filming will commence very soon, the fact that Turner has "a couple of movies" to do before suiting up as Jean Grey suggests there's still a few months before this project will kick off.

It also fits with what we've seen in the movies so far.

I have to say, in an era where even plans to develop a property are revealed to the public nearly immediately, it's nice to see Fox managed to keep their new massive superhero project a secret for this long.

The latest issue of Production Weekly revealed that the next "X-Men" movie is titled "X-Men: Supernova". So perhaps Turner is using more of a royal "we".

Turner's confirmation that she'll appear in the Apocalypse indicates that 20th Century Fox may be going with the option behind door number three.
