Katy Perry swears on screen

In two separate interviews, Perry joked about shaving her head after a public meltdown ― something she's thought was amusing since 2010 ― landing her in hot water with Britney fans, who reminded everybody that it's never a good look to mock mental health.

Prior to the ceremony in Los Angeles, Perry was asked by Ryan Seacrest about her hiatus from music, seeing as she only released one song in 2016 and that was in honor of the Summer Olympics. Britney Spears is then placed under tutelage, and retires from the stage to take care of her.

The joke was in reference to Britney Spears' public struggles in 2007, when she shaved her head and had a number of odd interactions with the press after reportedly leaving rehab. @katyperry mocked the mental illness of someone who went through a really dark time. "Katy's shade is getting more attention than her lead single".

Spears infamously shaved her head and attacked a paparazzo's vehicle with an umbrella in 2007 amid a custody battle for her two sons with then-estranged husband Kevin Federline.

In the clip, Britney says: 'A book in Malibu is all you need, ' with a small giggle which starts to terrify when placed on an endless loop.

"There's only two types of people in the world", one Twitter user wrote, "one is an icon & other is a copycat fan".

Another celebrity war might have been ignited between Katy and Britney, but the "Slumber Party" singer opted not to be bothered by the rude comment, reported US Magazine. She was amusing, she was charming, and like me, she had overbearing evangelical parents.

Another fan called on Perry to apologize to Spears for the jokes.

Another added: "I just lost all respect for Katy Perry". "Making a joke about mental health issues isnt OK".

"I'm a huge fan of hers".
