Toni Nadal to stop traveling with nephew Rafael after 2017 season

"The relationship with my nephew is always optimal, in all these years we have never had periods of crisis".

The 29-year-old Englishman has shone this week at the Saujana Golf and Country Club and a five-under 67 took him to 16-under 200 yesterday, three clear of American David Lipsky (68) and four ahead of Frenchman Alexander Levy (67). If he said that, then it means just that.

"And the truth is that every year I had less decision-making, until the day when I will decide on nothing".

Rafael Nadal has withdrawn from the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam to focus on his fitness.

"Starting next year I will not follow Rafael in the circuit anymore, I will dedicate myself exclusively to our academy", Toni Nadal told the Il tennis italiano website.

The wrist injury that forced Nadal to pull-out of his beloved Roland Garros mid-way through the tournament a year ago ended-up costing him most of his season in 2016.

"I am very sorry to announce I won't be able to play in Rotterdam", Nadal said on social media, reports Efe.

The Spaniard has revealed that his doctors have advised him to rest up following his lengthy run at the Australian Open, which ended with a defeat to Roger Federer in the final. However, he withdrew to ensure he was not pushing his body too hard so soon after returning from missing much of 2016.
