Sears, Kmart Are Latest Retailers Reportedly to Drop Trump Merchandise

Sears and its wholly owned subsidiary, Kmart, disclosed their decision on Saturday, saying it was part of a push to focus their online business on the most profitable items.

The Wall Street Journal reported Saturday that the brand's sales "fell by almost one-third in the past fiscal year, with sharp drops in sales weeks before her father Donald Trump was elected president". The election was held on November 8. The president has not, however, commented on the latest round of severance.

Sears sold 19 Trump Home items on their website and Kmart sold 13 Trump Home items on their website as of Tuesday, according to brand strategist Shannon Coulter, who started the #GrabYourWallet Trump boycott.

"My daughter Ivanka has been treated so unfairly by @Nordstrom", the president tweeted last Wednesday. "This is a direct attack on his policies and her name, so there's clearly an attempt for him to stand up for her because she's being maligned because they have a problem with his policies", Spicer said.

Sears and Kmart removing 31 Trump Home items from their online catalogue to focus on more profitable items, according to a spokesman yesterday.

"Amid that streamlining effort, 31 Trump Home items were among the items removed online this week", he said, adding those items can be found through a third-party vendor, without providing additional information about the products. - Reuters picThe decision follows Nordstrom's recent announcement to stop carrying Ivanka Trump's apparel due to declining sales.
