Rapaport: '[Oakley's] Frustration What Knicks Fans Have Been Feeling'

Madison Square Garden chairman James Dolan says Charles Oakley has been banned from the arena, though not necessarily forever.

The NYPD said Oakley was arrested on three counts of assault, all third degree.

The manager says Oakley was that Michael Jordan was on the phone and wanted to speak to him - but Oakey refused, "I don't want to speak to Mike, he's my brother, this has nothing to do with him, I want to talk to Dolan". Dolan also said on ESPN Radio that Oakley won't even be allowed back in The Garden, let alone within a few rows of the owner.

One Knicks fan had a "Free Oakley" sign taken away by Garden security Friday night. "And hopefully it won't be forever".

It's the latest black eye in a series of them for Madison Square Garden over the past 15 years, and it'll only get worse. "I didn't know the man (Dolan) was sitting there [close by]". So it's fitting that a week where the Knicks dominated headlines from start to finish for all the wrong reasons ended Friday afternoon with Dolan going on ESPN Radio in NY for a wide-ranging 30-minute interview that addressed everything that's happened with the team of late - both on and off the court. "I've said this before, we said it before". During his tenure, the Knicks' notable achievements include being the final resting place for Tracy McGrady and Steve Francis's careers, letting Eddy Curry and Allan Houston rob them of millions of dollars, and convincing Carmelo Anthony to waste his best years on them.

NY has had its fair share of controversy in recent weeks. Many Knicks fans are nostalgic of when Oakley was a Knick and "New York City [was] the mecca of basketball".

Oakley has said he had "a couple of drinks" before the game - and not while in the Garden - but that was it.

Dolan has also fired the head of security at MSG because Oakley should not have made it to his seat at all, according to multiple media reports. Another seat order taker said Oakley spent part of the evening muttering about Dolan. "He has lots of people around him who would help him, but we would too, if he would seriously address these issues". "It doesn't matter whether I think he is right or whether he's wrong".

" said, you have to leave because someone ordered you to leave", he said on the video posted on the restaurant's Instagram page.
