'It ain't over until it's over' was the Super Bowl mantra

That likely is a big reason why Fanatics, which sells licensed sports merchandise and clothing, is seeing Super Bowl LI merch flying off the shelves much quicker than products for the Patriots' last win in Super Bowl XLIX.

Hightower is no stranger to making plays when his team needs it the most. New England would win the coin toss and drive the ball down the field and score a game-winning touchdown to end the greatest Super Bowl that I have ever seen. I sat through the first three and a half quarters of this game thinking to myself "this game is going to be so forgetful".

His five Super Bowl titles speak for themselves in my opinion and his continued high-level play has many wondering whether Father Time will ever catch up with the Patriot's star. However, when it looked like the Falcons were going to put the game away, Ryan was sacked on second and 11 which put Atlanta out of field goal range. But he still lost out on the Super Bowl MVP award to quarterback Tom Brady, and didn't receive the free automobile that occasionally comes with the trophy.

But the Patriots topped that this season, storming back from a 25-point deficit to upstage the Falcons in Super Bowl LI. He also overthrew a 30-yard pass to a wide-open Julian Edelman.

Midway through the third quarter of last weekend's Super Bowl, I was convinced the Atlanta Falcons were champions.

That decision allowed me to witness the greatest comeback in National Football League history as Tom Brady cemented his legacy by guiding the Patriots to a 34-28 overtime victory and capturing the franchise's fifth championship since 2001. And now Tom Brady can wear rings on all five fingers.

Back in the heyday of the New York Yankees, it was often said that rooting for the Bombers was akin to rooting for U.S. Steel.

With their defense once again holding the Falcons, thanks to a timely forced fumble from middle linebacker Dont'a Hightower, the Patriots had an opportunity to tie the game up.

They became the only team in the 2016 season to punt after having a first down at the 21-yard line.

However, no one could have predicted how the game itself turned out. The tournament will be wide open. So I guess I'll make this column count.

Overall, Brady averaged 2.27 seconds from snap-to-throw, but he averaged 2.52 seconds in the first half, compared to 2.08 seconds in the second half.

Julian Edelman made a good catch on a awful throw for 13 yards. He then proceeded to make the first tackle of a three and out stuffing a run play for a loss of yards.
