Adam Lallana close to signing new LFC deal

Despite being dropped deeper into central midfield, Lallana has contributed seven goals and seven assists in 22 Premier League appearances.

After tying down their Brazilian sensation Philippe Coutinho to a long term contract, Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool are set to secure the future of another one of their top performers Adam Lallana who is set to sign a new 4-year deal at Liverpool.

His current deal expires in summer 2019, but Liverpool are keen to reward his improvement with a four-year deal worth £150,000 a week.

Lallana endured a hard start to his Liverpool career following a £25million move from Southampton in the summer of 2014.

The Telegraph add: 'Klopp has wanted Lallana tied down as he sees him as the foundation of the side he is building, despite the recent downturn at the start of 2017'.

And Lallana feels that Liverpool's domestic shortcomings boil down to the differences between themselves and Antonio Conte's table toppers.

In the meantime, Klopp's concentration is focused exclusively on the crucial game with Tottenham and he has made it clear to his players during training sessions at Melwood this week that he will not tolerate another performance like they produced at Hull.

"You can see [Chelsea] have a lot of experience and that they are used to winning", he told the Liverpool Echo. You don't have to always win by scoring five or six.

This is bad news for 'fantastic' Rose, but good news for the Reds, who'll need every possible advantage to beat high-flying Spurs on Saturday. Maybe that's an area we need to improve on.

Quinn reports manager Klopp has been drilling his players hard in training this week in sessions specifically geared towards beating the north Londoners and getting back to winning ways.
