"Obviously with C.J. not playing, we have some decisions to make to get three backs to game day, so that's what we're working through", Kubiak said.
With C.J. Anderson's knee injury, Booker has gone from a running back the Broncos simply wanted to get more involved in the offense to The Guy in the backfield.
Anderson had a minor arthroscopic procedure to fix the meniscus in his right knee Thursday, a source previously said. The surgery has been described as successful.
Gary Kubiak was riding high at Dove Valley the morning after his Denver Broncos' turn-around Monday night victory over the Houston Texans at Sports Authority Field.
With Anderson on injured reserve, he has to be out for at least six weeks before he can return to practice and has to be out for a minimum of eight weeks before he can play in a game. A timetable for his return won't be known until it's determined whether he suffered a partial or complete tear of the meniscus.
Rookie rusher Devontae Booker has been named the starter in Anderson's absence. Anderson had 110 carries for 437 yards and four touchdowns prior to the injury, along with another 128 yards and a score through the air. Combined with rookie Devontae Booker's big night, the Broncos (5-2) finally snapped out of an offensive funk by rushing for almost 190 yards.
"We think he has a chance to help us really quickly", Kubiak said. But they've been swept most often by the Chargers - three times, in 2006, '07 and '10. Kubiak said he liked how both backs looked at practice this week.
"Book is ready to play; I'm ready to play", Bibbs said.
While Thompson came to the Broncos as a running back, they moved him to fullback this offseason and he did fairly well.
"Philip does an awesome job with re-ID'ing things if they're doing a good job disguising something", Slauson said.
The Falcons started the season 5-0 past year and finished the season with an 8-8 record. That starts on Sunday against the Chargers. Minnesota wide receiver Cordarelle Patterson has a concussion after his best game of the season, a loss at Philadelphia, where he caught all seven passes thrown to him for 67 yards and a touchdown. They're thinking that since he's running hard and they spell him that I'm going to come in a run soft, but it's the game way.
