Aaron Rodgers Has Harsh Words For Packers Teammates After Loss to Colts

The drive had an inauspicious and unsurprising start: the Colts handed the ball to Frank Gore right up the middle for a minimal one-yard gain.

A squirrel runs in the end zone at Lambeau Field during the first half of an NFL football game between the Green Bay Packers and the Indianapolis Colts Sunday, Nov. 6, 2016, in Green Bay, Wis. Next Sunday at Tennessee starts three straight away from Lambeau Field, where the next game isn't until December 4.

Still, while no wins ever come easily, everything was set up for Green Bay to come out victorious.

Luck admitted the Colts needed a win in the worst way.

The Green Bay Packers quarterback had just lamented how flat his team had been early in Sunday's 31-26 loss to the previously reeling Indianapolis Colts, and now he was trying to explain why - and what to do next.

At 5-4, Detroit is now alone in second place in the North just a half game behind the Vikings. "It's a whole different world today, right now", Colts coach Chuck Pagano said.

The Colts survived after letting an 18-point lead with 9:35 left almost disappear. Getting themselves to 4-5 heading into the bye week is another victory in and of itself.

Rookie Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 92 yards and scored twice and durable tight end Jason Witten had 134 yards receiving for the Cowboys, off to their best start since 2007. We're waiting on some guys to get back, and like I said last week, it's going to be a work in progress.

A week after sitting out because a hamstring injury, Randall Cobb caught two passes for 14 yards - including the 3-yard touchdown that pulled the Packers within five points of the Colts with 3:29 to play after trailing by 18 - in an extremely limited role.

Rodgers finished 26-for-43 for 297 yards with three scores and an interception.

The Colts all but put the game away on the ensuing possession.

"Great job up front, first of all", said Luck, who threw for 281 yards to offset two first-half interceptions. Nelson got deep over the middle but said he lost the ball in the stands and on third and 10, Jeff Janis ran past Vontae Davis but dropped the deep shot at the Indy 25.

Instead of coming up big, however, they trailed the Colts by a 31-13 score early in the fourth quarter.

The shifty Luck maneuvered out of other tight spots including a 7-yard scramble on a bootleg on third-and-1 with 37 seconds left in the second quarter. Luck punctuated the march with an 8-yard touchdown pass to Moncrief with 11 seconds left in the half. After Sunday's loss, the Packers have won only nine of their last 20 games. The Packers went on to lose to the Colts 31-26, and are now 4-4 on the season.

Jordan Todman's kickoff return touchdown on the opening play was the result of extremely poor coverage by a middle of the pack special teams unit. As we try and digest another terrible performance at home, we look around the internet to get the immediate fallout from the game.

While Rodgers spoke at the podium, befuddled at what he called an "unacceptable" vibe on the sideline, frustrations boiled over in the locker room, where at least one player could be heard on an expletive-filled shower-room rant. There are things we have to clean up and we have to stack these together. We've got to be a little tougher. Rodgers again had to use his legs to carry the offense.

Ravens 21, Steelers 14: At Baltimore, Joe Flacco threw a 95-yard touchdown pass to Mike Wallace, and Baltimore frustrated an ineffective Ben Roethlisberger in a victory over Pittsburgh.

Cobb said McCarthy had not told him what his plans were before the game."I can't answer that". "I think our quality of play is not where (we want) it to be". "We don't need to be there, that's of our own doing".

Medical update: Cornerback Vontae Davis temporarily left the game late in the fourth quarter with an apparent injury to his left hand.
