Rockhold, who sustained the injury in training, was supposed to face Ronaldo Souza, but with the former middleweight champion having withdrawn, it remains to be seen what the UFC will do.
Faria said the UFC has not found a replacement for the bout yet, but added that "Jacare" is only interested in a fight with champ Michael Bisping (30-7 MMA, 20-7 UFC).
As of now, there is no exact timeline for Rockhold's return to action.
UFC Fight Night 101 is in search of a new main event.
The victor of the bout was expected to be in contention for a shot at the middleweight title held by British fighter Michael Bisping.
The November 26th card in question is the UFC's debut at Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne, Australia, the same city that hosted the historic UFC 193 card past year. So far, the UFC hasn't confirmed Rockhold's withdrawal or relayed what's next. "He'd rather fight someone like Dominick Cruz, who I would put my money on, by the way".
Rockhold has not fought in the UFC since dropping the middleweight title to Michael Bisping at UFC 199 in June. He then accepted the fight with No. 5 Souza, which was to serve as a rematch five years after they met under the now-defunct Strikeforce.
After all, Bisping recently called out Nick Diaz (26-9 MMA, 7-6 UFC) for a middleweight showdown.
The UFC Melbourne co-main event is between middleweights Derek Brunson and Robert Whittaker, and it's a fight that could easily be elevated to five-round main event status.
