Congress MLA suspended for derogatory remarks against Rahul Gandhi

Chhattisgarh Congress MLA, R K Rai was suspended for anti-party and rebellious activities on Wednesday. However, the agency also reported that Rai was also considered a supporter of Ajit Jogi's Chhattisgarh Janata Congress Party, and was considered a Congress rebel. Following his suspension from the party, Rai welcomed the decision and said: "I can't call a donkey a horse", only aggravating the further consequences.

RK Rai is the second Congress MLA after Ajit Jogi's son Amit Jogi to be suspended from the party.

The Congress delegation, including Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Luizinho Faleiro and State Leader of Opposition Pratapsinh Rane, met Mr. Gandhi and held talks with him over the forthcoming Goa polls. Rai while hinting at Rahul said that you can not call a donkey a horse and if the party feels that his observation was wrong, then they are either blind or pretending to be one. I can't call a donkey a horse.

"I am not at all sad with the move because I am a true and vocal tribal representative". I am free now, said Rai. "No discussion was held on tickets", sources said adding, "Gandhi, however, directed, that individual interests should be set aside and together, work for the party". Hariprasad though asserted the media that Congress will fight 2018 Assembly elections under the leadership of Congress state chief Bhupesh Baghel and legislature party leader TS Singhdeo.

Chhattisgarh Congress had issued a show-cause notice to Mr. Rai last week for "anti-party" activities and publicly making statements against the party.
