Bengals think Cowboys' Dak Prescott has been ideal; Twitter says 'nah'

It was a homecoming of sorts for Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton, who went to TCU about 20 miles away from AT&T Stadium.

Ezekiel Elliott became the first rookie back in team history to post three straight games of at least 100 yards rushing.

ARLINGTON, Texas - Is it time to take the Dallas Cowboys for real? "Dak's done a really good job taking advantage of the opportunity". As icing on the cake, 'Zeke finally broke off the big run we've been waiting for a 60-yard TD scamper in the third quarter to give Dallas a 28-0 lead.

Prescott has been incredibly efficient while leading Dallas to the top of the NFC East, completing almost 70 percent of his passes, throwing for four touchdowns and running for three.

Of course, Garrett sidestepped the major question, which centers on the future of the position considering how well rookie Dak Prescott has played in Romo's stead. Dallas not only won the game but in racing out to a 28-0 lead, they thoroughly dominated another opponent. Let's just hope this is a sign of things to come for the rest of the 2016 season. But the protection of Dalton was a problem. He finished with 227 yards on 18-of-24 passing. Even more impressive was the strong play in the secondary to keep game-breaking receiver A.J. Green under control with just four catches for 50 yards. His mark of 155 passes without an interception is eight shy of Tom Brady's all-time record at the start of a National Football League career. The most likely date is Week 8 - October 30 against the Eagles - as the Cowboys have a Week 7 bye. Prescott is playing as efficiently as Romo. "I still don't think this game was good enough".

The Cowboys piled up 180 yards on the ground, the most allowed by a Bengals defense since Seattle ran for 200 in the fifth game last season. Doesn't sound too bad, especially when you figure they gained a total of 345 yards including sacks. Depending on how he feels with the work, you try to ramp him up each day as we go.

Dallas Pro Bowl left tackle Tyron Smith returned after missing two games with back issues.

Rookie Paxton Lynch threw for 223 yards in his first start for an injured Trevor Siemian as Denver lost 23-16 to the Falcons.

While his fellow rookie, quarterback Dak Prescott, ran in for the score on that possession, Elliott dazzled again before Dallas fans had a chance to settle back in at the start of the second half.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said after Sunday's victory over Cincinnati that Romo would undergo an MRI on Monday and that he believed the quarterback would be told the compression fracture of the L1 vertebra would be fully healed.
