The latest National Basketball Association trade rumors hinted at a possible deal between the New York Knicks and the Philadelphia 76ers. However, neither of the teams mentioned in the report have officially confirmed about the trade scenarios.
Bryan Colangelo denied during a recent interview that the 76ers have been aggressively shopping Nerlens Noel or Jahlil Okafor. But it is also obvious that the 76ers has an excess of big men and it could be possible that they are letting go of one of them.
Things are more challenging because aside from Nerlens Noel and Jahlil Okafor, Sixers has Joel Embiid playing the same position and whom Brown has more confidence.
Brett Brown revealed that it isn't really easy to play in Sixers especially for the positions of Okafor and Noel wherein they both play as a center. Certain NBA trade rumors claimed that bringing in new players from the New York Knicks will help the 76ers to also focus on the backcourt gameplay, and thus create their dominance in the Eastern Conference league. But if they stay with the Sixers, they will surely need to live with the tough environment in the team.
Whether the Lakers would develop a genuine interest in acquiring Okafor or Noel remains to be seen, but given both players' availability, dealing for either of them is an option worth exploring for the Lakers.
On the other hand, Noel offers something the Lakers have lack in the past season, which is interior defense. Noel, who averaged 11.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks a game last season, would provide the Lakers a solid rim protector who can challenge of opposing teams.
