Yust has not been charged with Jessica Runions's disappearance, only for "knowingly burning" her auto. Kopetsky, of Belton, south of Kansas City, remains missing. It alleged that Yust kidnapped and restrained her, choked her and threatened to cut her throat during their nine-month relationship. He has not been charged in Kopetsky's disappearance.
A judge granted the protection order request and scheduled a hearing for May 10, 2007 - but Kopetsky went missing six days before the court date.
Yust's former girlfriend disappeared in 2007 after she filed a restraining order against him.
Kylr Yust is facing charges in the burning of a vehicle belonging to a missing Missouri woman.
Ken Yust told The Associated Press on Tuesday that he hasn't had a relationship with 27-year-old Kylr Yust for years, because they often disagreed on matters.
Jessica Runions' family says Jessica wants to be a pastry chef and she is working toward that dream at Foxwood Springs Senior Living Center.
Investigators haven't said whether Yust, who is on parole in a drug case, knows Runions. They, along with police are asking anyone with information about her disappearance to call the TIPS Hotline at 816-474-8477 (TIPS). He faced no other charge in Runions' disappearance and police have released no details about the relationship between them.
Records show that Yust's pregnant then-girlfriend won a protection order against him in 2011 after accusing him of drunkenly choking her. CBS News reports Yust spent nearly four years in prison after pleading guilty to a felony drug-trafficking count in 2013.
The Missouri Search and Rescue team were called to the scene to search the area for the missing woman, but it was called off after several hours due to "darkness". She was last seen at Belton High School, just blocks from her home. "Maybe a long period of time but she would eventually get back with you", said Michele Runions, who is Jessica's aunt. During the ordeal, the woman also claims Yust told her he'd killed people before, adding that he said he killed ex-girlfriends out of jealousy.
A friend who was at the party Thursday said Runions left at about 9:30 p.m., with one of her boyfriend's friends, a man familiar to police named Kylr Yust.
He also reportedly gave Jessica Runions, 21, of Raymore, a ride home from a party Thursday night in Grandview. She vanished days after filing for a protection order against him. It's unclear whether he has an attorney.
