Samsung is once again aiming to become the best smart watch producer in the world, as it will unveil in the very near future the Samsung Gear S3. Now some new online reports suggest that the smartwatch will arrive on November 4.
Samsung announced the Gear S3 smartwatch last Wednesday and a new report from SamMobile suggests the wearable may go on sale November 4. The disclosure comes from a tweet made by Samsung Netherlands on its official Twitter account, but it doesn't mention if the release date is for all regions or just Europe.
"With the Gear S3, we continue to build on our wearable heritage of offering diverse choices to enhance consumers' unique lifestyles", said Younghee Lee, Executive Vice President of Global Marketing and Wearable Business, Mobile Communications Business at Samsung Electronics.
Aside from the attractive exterior, Samsung also touched on the operating system driving the timepiece, and added that the watch face of the Samsung Gear S3 "has been carefully set in place" and that the "near microscopic details of a watch piece have been painstakingly recreated digitally", all the while enriching the Gear S3 with functions that can only be obtained from the digital world, such as weather updates and heart rate monitoring.
The smartwatch has a 46mm casing and a 1.3-inch display while the screen's resolution reaches 360 x 360 pixels. The display will be protected by a Corning Gorilla Glass SR+, specially designed for smartwatches.
The Gear S3 will be available in two models, the Classic, which is more like a standard watch in design, and the Frontier, which is more rugged and includes voice, internet, and music streaming support.
It is powered by a dual-core 1.0GHz Exynos 7270 processor, 4GB of internal memory, and 768MB of RAM. In addition, users can pick from more than 10,000 applications available for the Gear S3.
