Now, as the upcoming Resident Evil 7 returns to the series' roots, the game's developers have confirmed that the repertoire of enemies encountered throughout the game will be doing the same, with zombies leading the pack.
Meanwhile, "Resident Evil 7's" zombie-like enemies are expected to resemble the Ganado from "Resident Evil 4" or the Majini from "Resident Evil 5". According to GamesRadar, Capcom is still looking to deliver this kind of experience.
Going into detail, one NeoGAF user had given some pointers on what Capcom had presented. They are certainly more zombie-like than anything else introduced since their debut, and the only thing that would need to be addressed in their case is their capacity to occasionally use weaponry (something that became more prominent as the games progressed).
So far, it appears that these humanoid enemies will be created by hand using 3D models, in case recreation can not be done using the new technology that the developer is using. Capcom also hinted that the game is treating an atmosphere as an important factor.
As per the gameplay video, "Resident Evil 7: Biohazard" will be out January 24, 2017, and will be made available for Xbox One, Xbox One S, and PlayStation 4 game platforms, not to mention that the game will be virtual reality (VR) ready which will add to the game's fear levels.
There were familiarly dismembered faces and some new mutilated zombie forms, which the faint of heart would surely find really life-like and very scary in the PlayStation VR.
Regardless of what they turn out to be, however, these enemies will likely be a welcome replacement for monstrosities such as the Oozes from Resident Evil: Revelations and the Afflicted from Resident Evil: Revelations 2. Capcom has also teased the fans with new zombie enemies and character images. As reported by Yibada, Capcom will be featuring "Resident Evil 7" in the event along with "Monster Hunter Spirits", "Monster Hunter Stories", and "Toraware no Palm".
The same reports are also saying that the game shall contain a heavy amount of combat where players will use weapons like pistols, shotguns, flamethrowers, explosives, and chainsaws against mutated creatures.
The violence of the game will be pretty gory as it shall include dismemberment by chainsaw and shovel.
