The new Skoda Kodiaq SUV interior

While the multi-function steering wheel and door panels are shared with the Superb, the new dashboard on the Skoda Kodiaq gets a completely new dashboard.

These new interior shots follow the teaser images and video of the Kodiaq's exterior, along with the leaked side profile of the new SUV on a Czech website.

In terms of features, the 7-seater Skoda Kodiaq will be loaded with all kinds of creature comforts, while also expected active and passive safety systems like 360-degree view cameras with a top view, towing assist as well as Manoeuvre Assist that automatically applies brakes when reversing, if you are too close to an obstacle. The Kodiaq claims the largest boot capacity in its class, and Skoda has attempted to carry over that feeling of space into the rest of the cabin.

European Kodiaqs will offer a choice of five turbocharged engines - three petrols and two diesels - though the only confirmed powerplant is the familiar Volkswagen Group 132TSI petrol.

The Kodiaq is all set to make its global debut on September 1st, 2016, in Berlin. It will be available in 5- and 7-seat versions and the former offers 720 litres of boot space which can be increased to 2,065 litres by folding the rear seats.

As Skoda's first seven-seat SUV, the Kodiaq will be the company's maiden foray into the large SUV segment, occupied by the likes of the Toyota Kluger and Mazda CX-9.

The Skoda Kodiaq is surely amongst the highly anticipated launches that are scheduled for this year.
